Kerri works with us as a Remedial Massage Therapist and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) Exercise Trainer.
Kerri enjoys working with and being around people. She likes to work collaboratively with her patients using Massage and/or DNS practice/exercises to reduce pain, rehabilitate injury and postural issues, improve function, performance and daily living. She practices what she preaches, enjoys a variety of activities outside work and she’s a realist. She understands what it is like to be in pain, how hard – but rewarding – it can be to undertake rehabilitation and make positive changes to postural habits, having personally suffered a few significant injuries and having had to go through that process herself. It’s frustrating as hell but teaches you a lot about yourself right?
DNS stands for Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability. It is a rehabilitation approach that trains ideal stabilisation patterns using specific functional exercises. DNS retrains the body for ideal movement – the end result is less musculoskeletal pain, better breathing, improved range of motion and muscle co-activation. So even if it’s just getting out of “survival” breathing, getting up from a chair with less knee pain, doing a stand-all-day job without backache or working at your desk with a less head/neck/shoulder tension, there are things you can practice that can make your life a little easier.
Kerri has 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes massage appointments and 60 minute DNS appointments available. She can and does incorporate DNS into a Massage Therapy session too with clients if they’d like to do that, it’s all about just working with people based on what they want out of their session and time with her.
She looks forward to meeting and working with you!
